It is also part of the Asda Foundation 10k series which includes Lincoln, Nottingham, Burnley, Leeds, York, Bury, Hull, Leicester and Sheffield.

5th May 2013 - Three Staff from King's Lynn Docks entered the Bespak Grand East Anglia Run 2013 10K run.

For the second year the ABP Team entered the run this year to raise more money towards the "Rudham Children's Ward" at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. There was a fresh pair of legs this year with Charlie joining the team, and after building up the miles training on the treadmill & roads, the day itself was a great success for all.

Sunday 5th May John Jarvis, Simon Stafford Allen & Charlie Staples took part in the local GEAR 10K run at King's Lynn. As in 2012, we took the opportunity to raise money in support of the Rudham Children's Ward at King's Lynn's QE Hospital, and with the fantastic support from both ABP's Customers, staff, families and friends managed to raise a total of £1266. This was used to buy toys, games, clothes and equipment specifically for the ward, leaving a cash balance, all of which we had pleasure in taking to the hospital. Our individual times for race day were;

Secial thanks go to ABP's Carlton Mason who helped greatly in raising and collecting the donations, and his wife Donna who works at the hospital, and made the arrangements with the hospital for us, Whilst there she also took us round the ward to see how last years money was spent on an examination bed & television.

We would also like to thank John Barrett who met us at the hospital to capture the moment we met with the staff to hand over the gifts. John is a former colleague of ours at King's Lynn, and keen photographer with his own website and links to ABP: www.jcbarrettphotgraphic.co.uk.

ABP's Team- John Jarvis, Simon Stafford Allen & Charles Staples race that took place on 5th May 2013 - Grand East Anglia Run 2013 10K run. Following on from their first venture in last year's race, the ABP Team entered the run this year to raise more money towards the "Rudham Children's Ward" at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. There was a fresh pair of legs this time with Charlie joining the team, and after building up the miles training on the treadmill & roads, the day itself was a great success for all.

To make sure any donations go specifically to Rudham Children's Ward, cheques need to be payable to "Rudham Children's Ward". We hope to have raised almost £1000 in cash sponsorship prior to race day, which will be used to buy specific items from a list' and that way again it will be solely for that ward's use.

This ward is part of the Children's Services provided by Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust. Rudham Ward is a 23-bedded, acute general paediatric ward plus 5 Assessment beds that cater for children from the ages of 0 to 16.

The Associated British Ports Team from King's Lynn Office:-

Congratulations to John, Simon & Charles.
